Every year around the period leading up to Mother's Day, I remember an acquaintance who died violently on Mother's Day. His death was a shock to me since it was the first time I had ever been that close to death. It seems that one moment he was walking tall, smiling, talking to friends and the next he was dead. A friend telephoned and informed me that he got shot. I prayed silently he would live. Then my radio alarm came on, and I realized it was 5:30a.m. The radio was playing "Breathe Again". I experienced a very eerie feeling. I went to work, but later found out that he did not survive. This page is dedicated to the memory of Dead DJs / Rappers and Community Soldiers / Activists.
